Do
I Need A Resume?

This is an interesting question to ask a Master Resume Writer!
Occasionally
there are some new products or marketing tools in the career
industry. There are always the sceptics, and the people who
have existed without a resume up until now! Yes, a resume
can have limitations for what it can do in a job search. Just
sending out pieces of paper isn’t the most effective
means of communicating and is no replacement for face-to-face
contact.
It’s
not true that you don’t need a resume. If a résumé
is prepared as your marketing tool, emphasizing your accomplishments,
core business competencies, education and soft skills, then
it will play the key role in your recruitment.
A resume
serves as the introduction to who you are as a business person
and what you have to offer a potential employer. When you
state the title of the position at the top or a resume it
also communicates your objective. A resume briefly outlines
two things to a decision maker, human resource professional
or recruiter.
It tells
a reader exactly what you can do for them. It should, if accomplishment-based,
show how you have made a difference with previous employers,
and relays the message of how you could contribute to your
next employer. It opens the door to new opportunities. If
written correct it stimulates interest in your services and
entices the reader to call you for an interview.
It succinctly
documents what you’ve done and what you know. Once you
have dangled the carrot with the pro-jective and accomplishments,
the resume clearly and precisely outlines your background,
with sufficient detail to show what you were doing in each
position, the companies you worked for, the position titles,
what degrees your hold and so forth.
It is
possible to secure interviews without anyone seeing your resume.
Though networking you can meet people who can be very influential
in granting you an interview. But invariably, at some stage
or other, you will be asked for a resume.
The moral
is; “Be prepared.”
